Hi, I am Maya I have a heart problem.
I started this blog to see if any heart kids would read my blogs. I am interested in connecting with others like me. A heart kid is someone that was born with a heart issue that affects their day to day life. It doesn't stop me! I have had numerous heart surgeries and procedures in my life. I have many scars and marks that make me unique and beautiful. I am not ashamed of them. I wear them proudly!!
Here is a bit about me...I am 11 years old. I have a combination of six different types of defects but I don't let them hold me back. I love horseback riding and dancing. I do tap and jazz dance and have since I was 3 years old. I run in 5 k races with my family. I did 8 races this year. I also have celiac disease so that is another huge challenge I deal with daily. Celiac means I can not eat any gluten, wheat, rye and barley. It makes me very very sick if I do by accident.
I love meeting new kids with heart issues and sharing my heart story with them and hearing about theirs. I will post things that inspire me and challenge me. Let me know yours too because we can support each other!
I hope to be post every Thursday, Friday,Saturday and Sunday so keep a look out for my posts!! Please comment and introduce yourselves so I can say HI personally!! Bye for today[;
Open Heart Maya.

Hello Maya! My daughter has a CHD as well. She is only a 4 month old baby but I would love to read your blog so I can see what it may br like for her when she grows up.
ReplyDeleteIs your baby doing good or is she sick? I hope she gets better.
DeleteRight now she is good, you would never know she has a broken heart. She hasn't had open heart surgery yet but she will soon.
DeleteWhat a wonderful idea, Maya! My son is only 2 years old, but this will be a huge help once he’s old enough to understand his CHD and talk about it with others. Thank you for this!
